NASA officials expressed optimism that the Space Launch System’s primary test planned for January 16 will go well, leaving open the possibility that the spacecraft will make its debut, which had been delayed for long by the end of the year.┬áNASA has planned a static-fire evaluation of SLS core stage at Stennis Space Center for January 16. Ignition is scheduled at 5 p.m. Eastern, 485 seconds, with engines trying to fire. The research will be the outcome of the SLS core stage Green Run evaluation program, which began almost nearly a year later when the phase was mounted on an evaluation stand at Stennis.
